Gianluca Campiglio concluded his residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Milan where subsequently he also obtained his residency in Microsurgery and his PhD in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery with a thesis on growth factors and stem cells. He has been senior register at the Division of Plastic Surgery of Niguarda Hospital (Milan) and consultant in various private and public hospitals. Since 2006 he is only in private practice and dedicates full time to Aesthetic Surgery.

During his career he has been author of more than 200 scientific papers in Italian and international journals or books. He is in the advisory board and section editor of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Journal. He is invited Professor at the Medical School of the most prestigious Universities in Italy (such as Milan, Palermo and Padova) and abroad (University of Liege-Belgium) where he teaches surgical anatomy and aesthetic surgery. He is Visiting Professor of ISAPS and completed professorships in Hungary, Ukraine, Argentina and other countries. He has been for 10 years in the Board of Directors of the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) (2010-2020) and 2nd Vice President of the Society (2018-2020) and Chair of the Global Survey Committee (2022-2024). He has been in the Board of Directors of the European Association of Societies of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EASAPS) and Chair of the External Relationship Committee (2017-2019) He is founding member and board member of the Italian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (AICPE) (2011-2015), board member of the Italian Society of Reconstructive and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (SICPRE) (2024-2026), international member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He is also honorary member of many national societies of Plastic Surgery. He has been consultant for Aesthetic Surgery for the Italian Health Minister and currently he maintains this position for the Medical Council of Milan.

His excellent teaching skills, based on a solid experience in all the field of Aesthetic Surgery are worldwide appreciated at congresses, courses and other educational meetings.
